Just had a surgical operation

About 10 years ago i was rushed to the hospital for an extreme abdominal pain. Normally i would just curl up like a ball and wait for it to go away but the pain just did not. Since the Doctor was not able to get what was the triggering point of the pain, he gave me a pain killer which somehow relieve the pain. However, he did suggest to have an exploratory laparotomy just to be certain. My dad and i decided not to resort to that since as soon as i took the pain killer the pain subsided.

Years passed, the pain would come and go but it only happens sporadically and the only remedy was the pain killer. My wife would insist to go ask for a Doctor's opinion but i really doubt that they can find whats wrong with me.

My body somehow was able to cope with the pain. Usually when the pain starts it would only last a day but it took turn for the worse. Occasionally, it would last more than two days or a week. I still refuse to visit a Doctor until last year i finally decide to give in. So the Doctor made a couple of test namely CBC, Urinalysis and Ultrasound. They did find something on my kidney from the result of the Ultrasound but i doubt it was that. So i gave it a try, took the prescribed medicine and go on with my life.

Few months after, the pain occurred however this time the pain doubled. It was the same unbearable pain i felt 10 years ago. And to make it worse, the pain killer had no longer an effect. Without a second thought, i let my wife rush me to the hospital. It was already a "Do whatever you want to do to me Doctor!" situation.

It started with the same test: CBC, Urinalysis, Ultrasound and X-ray but all came out a vague results. Then they said a CT scan would definitely tell them whats wrong with my stomach so i said will go for it. A CT scan is a large machine with a large tube on the side, your body would then slide through that tube which is pretty much scary to me.

A closer look of the CT scan

What i hate most about the test was the painful "contrast" (at least that is what i heard) that was injected through my IV. Since the vein in my IV has already swollen i have to bear the pain for over 40 seconds.

Finally, thank God we were going somewhere. They found something from the CT scan result, some sort of Haziness (that is what they describe it) in my Appendix and enlargement of my intestine therefore concluding i need an operation. But that still did not explain why this has something to do with the reoccurring pain for the past 10 years. We were planning to get a second opinion from a Gastroenterologist but due to the appendix that is about to rapture anytime soon an operation was badly needed. To tell you honestly i was not in favor of the operation but i got no other options.

The operation was the day after the exam result, it was Saturday night. I opted to have me put to sleep while on surgery but before that they need administer an anesthesia on my lower body. The funny thing is the anesthesiologist had a hard time finding the space in between my spine. With Doctor's frustration she ended up administering general anesthesia.

Three hours later, i was out of the Laboratory along with the Doctor's findings. I actually had a rare case, along with the acute appendicitis the real deal was the intestinal adhesion. From what i have understand, my intestine was preventing my appendix from rapture because my intestine was wrap around it. The reoccurring pain for the past 10 years was the congenital intestinal band (already had it when i was born). An exploratory Laparotomy was indeed a good call for this. (I was able to search it from the net and it all says Explore Lap is the only option). I have to say that the Doctor and whoever took part of the operation really did a good job and i am very thankful to them. I really feel much better now. Thank God!

My stitches

This is a picture of my stitches. Doctor really did a good job.
By the way, they have to put in a surgical staples because surgical sutures can barely hold it.

Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival is at work!

Its customary for Chinese to celebrate Ghost month which falls on the 7 month of lunar calendar year. And as Feng Shui goes, this is a month where Yin imbalances Yang mainly causing more distress to our Job, business, health and relationship. The Chinese communities advise not to hold an event such as marriage or undertake any decision like money matters, cause it will plainly bring bad luck. It is said that the deceased, especially those who are unhappy from the afterlife, will seek for food and entertainment.

Honestly, i haven't heard of  Ghost month ever until know. Personally, i rarely believe in superstitions as such, but Feng Shui came probable to me at some point of my life. Witnessing accidents and untimely deaths completely knocks my disbelief of superstitions out of the window. I could no longer care less of this unlikely happenings not to mention this unlikely events happened at close distance.

Early this morning i burned incense and say a little prayer. We have to do the same tomorrow and burn Joss Paper(Money of the dead). This are advises coming from Feng Shui experts.

I'm back to my original regime

Its a working progress but i am close to finishing the task. I got my exercise habit back, jog 3-4 times a week although lessen the workouts like lifting weights. I'll digress a lil bit with my plans on getting physically fit because of things that are get in my way like working on my plan to bring back the things the way before. Well, i manage to cross one of the list but i will still be up for the next task.

I was wondering how i can bring our business back running. Well, first of all i have to crank up my computers here in the shop. Its a little bit out of maintenance so that will be my first of to-do list. I'm a little bit concern on how things will turn up. Because i really love and i have a passion on running a business than being an employee in a company.

So with all of the brainstorming me and my wife did, we came up of additional foods in the menu. Well, we got a little hotdog stand out of our store and seeing from my perspective i can attract more customers if i cater good food out. Of course they may want to wait inside the cafe for the food or while they are eating of course surf the net perhaps. But those are just unapproved plans yet, i have to discuss this still with my parents. I'm dubious if they agree because it will require hefty amount of money.

I cant think of things i can add in my to do list yet. But if the two list works out i'll decide later what to do next. My hopes are up!

Long Journey

Stopped my track for more that a year and took my Blog in hibernation. Never even took a peek at my blogs or any social network sites that i know. However, the reason why? i was much deeper attach to my personal life than online. Perhaps, u can say, i was bound to face the reality which i think is an ideal action for a family man. But in much deeper thought why would i divert my true goal in life if I'm not happy with it. Eventually we are still bound to do what is best for ourselves and what we love.

Now, if you all know how far have gone? A lot! Gained exponentially internal well being and experience i would say is massive! Not only i gained so much from it but it brought me clarity. I tried to apply for a call center agent, well, i did get the job. Though, it was the least job i was looking for because i was hoping i could land a job that co relates with my course. In fact i specifically said i was looking for an IT job when i came in for an interview. But what the heck, they think i am up for the job then i had no other choice. I did like it for a few months however, my passion for the job was waning down as months go by. This is somehow parallel to what i love to do, but in a different way of communicating which is of course verbally. There is a fine line between the two and i think in my own opinion i'm better off on the side of writing.

Who would have thought that speaking is very much complicated than writing. Writing is simply perfect at all time because you get ample time to compose it unlike speaking words right there and then which i think is impossible for a person who is not quite accustomed to the language. Evidently disaster is imminent in some circumstance which needs answer in a whim. To be honest, i don't know how i got out of that situation where i have to give a resolution in an instant to the person on the other line. Very hard indeed

Well, i got it here so far and i learned to love my job somehow which is by the way im not capable of doing. Like they always said practice makes perfect. I'm still looking forward to gain something from the company. I think i did give my best to provide service to the company and it is about time to acquire something. We will see how things would turn out in the future.

What to blog? When there is nothing to blog About?

I thought Blogging was as easy as it looks but its actually harder than i thought. You have to have the research skills that most of bloggers has. Well, I am modest enough to say i have an aptitude for that skills but unfortunately not all people have a time or maybe just out of resources. I guess you'll never know if your not in my shoes. Socializing is mainly the source of some bloggers, friends here and there, party, clubs, and living the life of the luxuries. Whats traits do they have in common? Well, they have something to share! Me, on the other hand, has limited access of mostly everything. But sometimes i have doubt that i am depriving myself from those things or maybe i'm not bold enough to notice little things. Surely there is somethings i have to share about. Maybe if i add a little twist to my life, add a little spice perhaps? I reckon some things will come up. I had plans on giving up my current job and finding a new job. Maybe then i'll be on the right track, well, hopefully. Hold on a minute, do i have to quit my job for this sole purpose? Hmm.. this requires a lot of pondering.

Well, at the meantime, since nothing is new, i guess i have to take some tips from the pros. And while i'm at it, i'll start thinking for the next blog. :)

a very easterly sunday!

Its our tradition to go to the beach every Easter sunday ever since. Weather is not particularly a problem for us neither scorching heat or get drenched in the rain, as long as we could get to the beach. And it is completely impossible for us not to bring foods and beverages with us, we love food anyway. However, this years easter sunday was different.

We were enjoying all the foods and company until deluge of rain turned all the excitement into chaos.Well, we never expect to rain heavy that day and it never happened before. So, we thought the rain would soon be over and we could get back from what we were doing. But it got worse when the wind suddenly started to blow. Then Palm leaves started falling on top of our cottage. All of a sudden everyone was shouting, first thing came to my mind was somebody probably got struck by falling palm leaves. Until i saw who it was, it was my kid. Fortunately he got up with only minor bruises, but he was so scared he never stopped crying. We waited for hours for the rain to stop, i even thought it would never stop. We left when rain started to calm. After what just happened, my poor kid promised never to go back to the beach.

Here are pics of my kid bruises:

its OVER... WEIGHT!

My New Year Resolution is to loss weight.. Yeah, probably heard that a million times from anyone with a waist line of 40. lols. However, lets cut the facts (or Fats) and get down with it!

It has been 4 years that my life has been stagnant, idle, sedentary and inert like a rock mounted over by a big rock and just sits there allowing nature to do its Job. Well, without a doubt Nature did its job! My exact weight before was 65 kgs and now, a staggering 80 kgs! Not much of a difference of course in kilograms, however, convert that to pounds, from 143 lbs to 176 lbs. Yikes! I could not care less about my weight before or never checked how i weigh to be exact. By the time i realize that my jeans and shirt does not fit anymore, i got totally frustrated. Then it suddenly came to me that maybe its time to loss weight. Trim all the fats and be active with my life.

Frustrations sometimes helps you get into shape, relatively, by weighing more on the facts rather than the appearance. Really it does! When frustration sets in, you wanted back what was there and that keeps you going no matter how hard it is.

In the meantime, i am working my ass off to burn a lot of fats. It has been a month since i enrolled in a Gym and surprisingly, i lost 10 kgs!  Hm.. not bad for an amateur. Lols. However, i do not want to effusively praise myself over that sheer number of weight loss. Well, because i do not want that to get way over my head coz from the outside it does not show at all. Maybe 3 months from now there will be visible change. Well, it should be, i will be damn pissed if that is not gonna happen! I'll post something if i everything goes well with my weight, hopefully.

Inauspicious start to my Year 2010!

So, if you've been wondering what the hell was going on behind my 4 months hiatus. Well, i should say it was one helluva months! After numerous blunders and unfortunate events, i have to admit that it is inauspicious start for my year. And i have a feeling there are more coming our way.

Even before meeting the end of year 2009, i had encountered several misfortunes. And most of it has something to do financially. However, i was expecting it since December is considered as hibernation for most. lols. And instead of going to small business like our internet cafe, they prefer malling. Just to add, Me and my lil tykes birthdays are in December, so, shelling out is really necessary. So, just to make both ends meet i got a loan and, unfortunately, give up some certain possession.

Now that December was over its time to pay it all up. I'm very confident that i can get through with this easily, however, it slip my mind that January is time for renewal of papers for our I-Cafe. And i realize the amount of payments are just equal with the loan i made. OUCH!

But here comes the worse part! All of those things i stated are nothing compared to losing my BAG! Along with it are my wife's cellphone and mine, i-pod, digi-cam and wallet! The moment i realize my bag was gone, it seemed like my whole world came crashing down around me. (er.. not really, just to add some dramatic effect.. lols) but what really upset me was that my bag was placed right in the middle of 5 people and not a single one of em noticed who took my bag! They never thought someone would dare reach my bag over the counter.

The thief really hits the jackpot! Well, from my count, all of those stuff were worth 30k all in all. By now, i think all of those stuffs are long gone, who knows where they might be right now.

Now that its February and so far so good. We are now trying to recuperate from the financial loss by, somehow, doing every lil thing we can to replace the items without inflicting damage to our family financial cash flow and at the same time spare a lil something for ourselves. In the meantime, we have an ideal place where we could buy cheap replacements with the help of our friends namely Mae and Ryan. Thanks!

Well that is it! Somehow, i'm feeling kinda relieve now that i got it off my chest. I hope this reminds my family to be vigilant with our things. Especially, since we encounter unknown characters everyday we should simply need to watch out with those kinds. Hmpf!

Quick Trip to Caluwayan Palm Island

Well, a few mishap here and there but we certainly manage to get there in time. Although the weather was not in the mood, not even a single ray to pierce through the thick clouds. But that's not important, we are in a quick getaway anyway from our busy life.

So far the best beach i ever been to. Nice cozy cottages and very satisfying food! but I recommend you not to go swimming in the beach its jellyfish season, their everywhere! yikes! take a plunge to their infinity pool instead. And not to mention an Absolutely breathtaking view! In the end, i still cant get enough of the place but, unfortunately, i was all worn out and i have to drive back home.

Plans way ahead for Me and My Wife

Me and my wife are at the brink of getting bored of our lifestyle. Everyday and everything seems just as normal as always. Its like waking up doing the same thing that are necessary for our daily living, Its No fun at all. Yes we do gimik from time to time but thats just normal for us, its a short time to have fun. We need something new, somewhere to explore and replenish our minds and somewhere far beyond the bounderies we're in. So, to cut a long story short, we are craving to travel somewhere far from our place, either other cities here in the Philippines or outside the country. We are not expecting it soon, so, we are still browsing through all the itinerary from airlines, looking for a cheap and very convincing as well. Meanwhile, we are saving enough for the trip and planning exactly where and when. Although it may take months or a year, we'll make sure the plan is fixed and nothing is in our way.

Here are few options:

It's My Wifes Birthday! woot woot

Todays my wife's brithday. Yes its her birthday but no parties, just me, my wife and some friends will be goint out later. I've been thinking of what present to give my wife since its her birthday. I'm not a guy who usually gives flowers, chocolates and everything, the so called 'sweet' in particular. I've done that before, but being creative is'nt me at all. But i don't want to dissappoint her, so i'm throwing it out of the windows just to give her a lovely present. Will bouquet be nice? Chocolates? a dinner date? I guess i'll figure it out while i looked through stores in town. Wish me luck!
