My pride and joy!

My Book and Novel collections are my prized possession. I never loved books in my youth and frankly i hated reading. So i'm kinda like a late bloomer, i realized this interests right after college that eventually became my hobby.  This all started when i have been periodically reading my sister's Magazines. Later, i noticed i have been checking out frequently all the articles i loved to read everytime my sister buys a new issue. It kept me updated and entertained for a while but it was just not enough for me. So i started to collecting my own Magazines a month after that. I have keen interest in articles about healthy living, lifestyle, new technology and GIRLS. NO! its not what you think, i pledge my respect to women. We all know Men love women, right? i respect women as much as i love my collection. So FHM became My very first collection and as far as i can remember i started back in 2007. I may have missed a few issues but it kept me updated of variety of information. You can attain a lot of information from FHM not just showcase of Girls, they literally got everything! That is where i started loving novels because they also have articles about best selling books.

So i started with the Book of Mark Bowden's Finder's Keepers: A story of a man who found a $1 million dollar. My wife got this from her friend. I was just curious of its contents which eventually led me to finishing the whole novel. No doubt I loved it! By the way, the Author is very notable of his works like Black Hawk Down which was made a movie.

Craving for more, my next book was Twilight saga which in that time was very popular among teen. If you haven't heard of it, SHAME ON YOU! haha... not really. This book is about a story of a girl who fell in love w/ a vampire so as the vampire w/ her and additional mythical creature which are a formidable foes of vampires, the werewolves, but according to the book they are called shape shifter. Although the fiction characters thwarted a lil bit what most people are adapted to however its uniqueness quite catch the readers. The author of this book is Stephenie Meyer.

What followed after are books from Sidney Sheldon. Which by the way is my wife's favorite author and he got tons of this, but, i never had the chance to read it all. The only books i manage to read are The sky is falling and Doomsday conspiracy. Not really my cup of tea but it will do for the meantime.

A teen genre, thriller, mythical, and lil bit of romance, this became my benchmark for a good novel. I did a lil research and found out about the controversial author Dan Brown. I'm very proud to say that i read all of his works: Trilogy (Angel's and Demons, Davinci's Code and Lost symbol), Deception point and Digital Fortress. All his novels has literally elements of Conspiracy from secret societies which brings up the thrill to all readers. His two books were also brought to the big screen: Angels and Demons and Davinci's Code.

Books after books, i finally created my list of favorite authors. One of them is Paulo Coelho but I haven't completed all the books yet, is a long way to go and there is no way i'm stopping. His Books has only a few pages but it consists of thousands of meanings. That is why i love his novels. This is what i've got so far: The Alchemist, Valkyries and The Zahir.

Some of the book i read are recommendations by my friends and some online. One in particular is the book by Yann Martel: Life of Pi. It has gruesomeness in its story but it also incorporates stories about religions, that makes it very interesting. I never really understood the end of the story, but that is what makes it unique. The author intends to make the readers minds puzzled depending on how readers would interpret there would really no specific ending. I'm still considering buying his other books.

And last but not the least, my favorite author so far is Dean Koontz, has uniquely intriguing suspense thriller Novels and science fictions. I happened to buy his book from a book sale and i'm just glad i did. Every flip just brings up the intensity whether its romance or suspense making readers feel the story very realistic. And all books he wrote are based on scientific facts, no wonder it made me feel like it happened in real life. He wrote quite number of books but he never let me down so far. So i'll keep on reading and keep on collecting.

This by far has brought my drive to collect books and novel without limit. I'm looking forward to collect all of the volumes by each author i have. I have completed one so i'm pretty sure i can do it also with other authors. I got an eye on this authors: Nicholas Sparks(Walk to remember), Chuck Palahniuk(Fight club), J.D Salinger (The cather in the rye) and  Rick Riodan (Percy Jackson and the olympians)

What is the best tablet i can find?

I'm looking forward on getting one of the best Tablet i can find particularly in my place. But lets go back a bit why i decided to get one these.

We have been far influenced by technology in our daily life either lifestyle or work. Look around and you'll see someone poking their fingers on their phones. Aside from that, the availability of WIFI is exponential we can almost access internet anywhere. On the other hand, thru connectivity we can freely do most of our online business in the most convenient places like coffee shop, malls, restaurants, just name it you can gain access thru the internet. Laptops can be a bit bulky carrying it around and for some reason it has now gone outdated since the coming of the Tablets PC. Though we still know the advantages of a Personal Computer and laptops considering its technicality like upgrades. However, new tablets is now cellphone capable making it more advantageous than others in terms of communication. There are different brands out there to choose so this is the hard part for me. I have a few candidates that has my taste.

1. Galaxy Tab 7.0 or newest 10.1
2. Apple IPad 2 (I hope price drops down sooner)
3. Asus EEpad
4. Macbook

these are just few to mention

Stages of Intoxication

On our regular Saturday night, after clinks of glasses, a few exchanges of banters with my friends and alcohol filling up my system. I suddenly thought of something, how many stages of intoxication are there  before a person completely passes out. So i came to realize, this situation would be the best time to watch my friends closely. I'm a heavy drinker so i don't think i can be a rat lab for this. I know getting a lil tipsy can make your brain work better but not when were heavily boozed. So there is a limitation for me if i do that alone. So from start to the end i took notes (in my mind, of course) Anyway, here are a few things that i noticed:

1. Confident/Over Confident - No restrictions, you say what you want and do what you want. If your personality is tactless it will be even worse when you drink.

2. Elation/Excitation - no matter how a person feels from the beginning, they will go through  an ecstatic feeling. This is probably the reason most  of us would feel we're having a great time but i think its caused by alcohol.

3. Emotional - for some, it is already considered drunk but not for me. Because you still have your senses intact. A person carrying a problem/burden at this stage would break down and cry, very likely in breakups. But this is just their chance of letting it out.

4 Argumentative - we become illogical and would just protest over little things they don't agree with. This will be a battle between what they think is right. At this point, it could end up in a brawl or one of them would let it loose.

5. Guilt/Realization- this is point of realization. Most likely will feel guilt after their actions especially petty arguments. Or, realizing its drinking limitations.

6. Physically impaired - kinda funny right? its very similar to an impaired person. Body at this point won't coordinate with what your mind says. Speaking will be definitely hard and if you manage to speak out whats in your mind, hands down to you! Distinct characteristic of this stage is extreme clumsiness!

 7. Spiderman abilities - why you asked, you will learn how to crawl, cling to walls and insensible to inhuman physical damage. However, your wrong if you think that is cool. This far you lost your ability to walk or stand and body could either be parallel to the ground or down on all fours. Your only way to get your footing is to cling on walls. You may not feel a thing because of numbness caused by alcohol, if you hit your head or any part of your body you'll definitely feel hell the next day!

8. Sound sleeper - system shutdown, comfortably sleeping  regardless of what position. This is where your friends will make fun of you. So don't be surprised if  pictures of your are all over facebook or other social network sites the next day.

I guess thats it for now. i'll try to update this as soon as i gather more information about intoxication..

BRO CODE! (How i met your mother book )

BRO CODE by Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) and Matt Kuhn

I really love this sitcom next to Friends. If you watch this you would really know what i mean. Every season it gets closer and closer to Whos their mother (Ted Mosby's kids) and how they met of course. You can find the whole plot of the Sitcom here in Wikipedia:

But here is very interesting, Neil Patrick Harris (a.ka Barney) has a book that relates to his role in this sticom. Its like a reference book on how to become Bro (How to be cool as Barney). Its fun, i took a sneak at Amazon the contents of this book. It will show you diagrams and most of all how they hit a girl with a nick like Barney. That is very impressive don't you think? But i don't think you can ever use this  in real life.. hehe...

I was able find one of this book in National Bookstore but for some reasons i didn't took it home with me. I very much regret why i didn't because when i came back to get it, its no longer available. However, i'm still looking forward on putting this on one of my Book collections. I'm also interested in getting "The playbook" which illustrates the different ways on how to score a girl in one of the episodes (Again, this doesn't help you in any way in real life!)

So anyone there who can point me online where i can purchase it cheaper..?

Southern Leyte Road trip!

Extraordinary! That is how exciting our trip was. It felt much better going on a vacation spontaneously just letting the road lead us the way and just by bringing along a few maps and list of beautiful spots and resorts in the area, that is enough to take you where you want. Although we really don't have any plans, we all know that somewhere around, that region, it will eventually take us to a place where we can stay and Enjoy!
Our First stop was Liloan, a small town but has a lot to offer. A few may know that my Aunt is the Mayor of this town so we dropped by at their grocery to buy our foods and drinks. Then visited their house and ate breakfast.

After that, my Aunt suggested to eat dinner with them since we still have a spare time. We agreed and took this opportunity to try out the Zip-line in Agas-agas in the meantime. Unfortunately, they were on lunch break when we got there.

Well, since this will still be the road that we'll take going back to Tacloban might as well do it later. We got back to the road and straight to the place where we are to meet up with Aunt and Uncle. Syshore (seizure according to Ryan hehe.. ) Resort/Convention/Restaurant we really don't know. We were not satisfied with their food but since we need the energy for our trip, its completely necessary to stack up food in our belly. Then we headed back to the road to resume our trip.

Took a few wrong turns, drop by at some resorts (which unfortunately not good for our palates), and drove back and forth between resorts. As a tripper, you should pick a place that is very convenient for you and not to mention affordable. So being picky is very wise! That is what we did after all!

From jumping one resort at a time, we finally found a place to crush, Kuting Reef. The price was kinda average though you can still get the best out from their itinerary and their amenities. They recommended the barkada package since we are a group of four, inclusive of their amenities and tours, however, this is our first stop and we still have a long way to go. We took a bed for two instead and paid additional fees for two persons 3.7 K, that was cheaper than we thought. Our stay there was superb and very unlikely to other beach resorts, i'm rating it 7 and 10 as a perfect score. Very accommodating, great foods, clean beds and pool and the best attraction is their Reef!

The Morning after a few bottles of Tequilla and Beer, we head out at 10 a.m. but this time i'm taking  over the driver's seat. We went deeper south of Southern Leyte and had a few stops to look at spectacular scenery. Then again right after a few wrong turns we eventually reached the place called Maasin City.

We found the city very quaint, i think its because their old houses or maybe it felt like our place before. But what i really found odd is the one way streets, yeah we have one way streets hear in Tacloban but its very unlikely, they have different routes for the North and South bound Highways. I never realized how hard it is to follow a route not familiar to you, no doubt, its very common for traffic police to hear this as an alibi "I'm not from here, i'm from (insert place)" but of course i'm telling the truth if ever i was pulled over. hehe...

According to map and reference we brought, they have a holy place situated in this area. So we decide to pay a visit to say our prayers and thanks. It was kinda hard driving to a very narrow street especially when you took a wrong turn and you have to make a U-turn. Minutes passed and we still haven't seen the place. So don't ask if we got lost? Evidently we did. We actually overlooked the sign several times, but don't blame us the sign was covered with something.

I really don't remember what was covering it but anyway once we got off the car, what really surprised us is how far we have to climb up to get to Monte Cueva. How far? Just a 400-600 steps. I actually lost my count after the grueling climb. Just a word of advice, this is certainly not for the faint hearted, you don't wanna be rolling down the hill after fainting, would you? Anyway, while we were at the middle of our climb, just our luck when deluge of rain followed, what worse could happen anyway with this kind of situation? The only thing that was in our mind was if we could make it or not.

We finish the climb probably after 30 mins with our clothes drenched of course. Well, all the grueling climb paid off when we finally went inside Monte Cueva, somehow, we felt relieve and enlightened. No wonder, people would do this every year its because of this feeling where one would literally feel light spiritually. Not to mention the breathtaking view overlooking Maasin City.

Took a while to regain our energy, however, going down is not as hard as climbing up. What an experience!

Since we are spiritually refreshed, we went back to the road to head home but We still have one last stop to make, Agas-agas bridge Zipline. Me and sol, prepared for this and was too excited that we got our adrenaline pumping. Our minds were set, even though its raining we still insisted on going no matter what happen. However, once we got there our disappointment went off the roof. We have to endure the long line before getting to the end and we only have a few minutes left because its getting dark, we don't wanna be on the road by that time. It was kinda bummer.

We head home looking a pretty drained. It did not matter anyway because our trip was a blast. An experience we definitely will never forget!

Best Photo share website for my Vacation Photos.. ?

I keep on forgetting to post our vacation expedition in Southern Leyte and most recent one in Naval Biliran. I really don't know why i keeps on slipping out of my head where in fact i mostly spend my day online. I guess now would be a great time to share it to everyone. The only problem is i cant find a website or a host which will contain all of the pictures. Most of all, i'm not just going to find a random website to host my pictures particularly for security reasons. Preferably a website that has connections to all blogs, easy to use and doesn't pretty much decent for my pictures of course. Actually, i already have few candidates which i would elaborate further:
1. Photobucket - i had this all this time but i don't think of using it again. Have to find another a new one
2. Flickr - very common to bloggers, which made me think of switching to this but i still have my options open
3. Imageshack - very easy to use, not really vibrant or not very attracting to me in terms of website as a whole.
4. Picasa - i really doubt i will use this, just visited the website just a while ago and it made me install the windows version (its powered by Linux, no wonder!)
5: Smugsmug - 14 days trial, big no no to me! hehe..

Feeling Lucky Today!

Ever had that feeling when you wake up your going to start your day just fine? and its like something is coming your way that is very special! Well, you don't have to ask me because its written all over my face right now. I'm also thinking this may be a great start for this July. Let's see what the days ahead in store for me.

Here is official statement of Tacloban City's Mayor

I was waiting for the official statement from the two parties and recently found this in Facebook from a friend. I gotta say, Mayor literally put his foot down to the recent issue. I know for sure he made his point and it was a very persuasive defense indeed. However, we have to hear the others side's defense as well.
